Local pricing applies to any move that starts and ends in the same state. We pick up across the region, so that means New Jersey to New Jersey — but equally Pennsylvania to Pennsylvania, or Connecticut to Connecticut. Crossing a state line makes it long-distance instead, however short the actual drive.

How local pricing works

Local NJ moves are billed hourly at $75 per worker, with crew size scaled to your shipment's cubic footage — 3 workers up to 900cf, 4 workers up to 1,799cf, 5 up to 2,700cf, and 6 beyond that. On-site time is based on 60cf of productivity per worker per hour, with a 2-hour minimum. Travel time is calculated from actual mileage (our base to your pickup, pickup to destination, destination back to our base) at 60 miles per hour, with a 3-hour minimum — so the lowest a local move runs is 5 billed hours total (2 on-site + 3 travel), regardless of how small the job is.

Any move that starts and ends in the same state. A New Jersey to New Jersey move is local — and so is Pennsylvania to Pennsylvania, or Connecticut to Connecticut, since we pick up across the region. What makes a move long-distance is crossing a state line, not the mileage: Jersey City to Newark is local, while the shorter hop across the river into Manhattan is not.
